Lighthouse Christian Academy just celebrated its 11th year as a private, church funded Christian school. This year our grades were 3rd-12th. Each morning school starts with the children having special prayer and devotion time. Many testimonies of answered prayer have come from the students prayer time! The children have a testimony in the community and abroad of being sincere prayer warriors who pray with expectation!
Morning devotions were a little different this year than in the past – once a week one of the children would stand up and give a heartfelt devotion based on their experiences with the Lord and what the Lord was doing in their life. No matter what the students age – all students were included and rotated mornings of being the one to deliver the devotion and to encourage each other in the Lord.
Other activities this year included a dedication to world missions (namely Africa) and supporting the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. The children sent several care packages to the troops containing Christian literature, deodorant, baby wipes, lip balm, New Testaments, gum and other essentials. The children enjoyed hearing back from the troops and being able to communicate with our soldiers on the front lines on the war against terror. On June 5th Lighthouse Christian Academy had their 11th End of The Year awards ceremony and celebrated the graduation of one of our students, Randi Marie. The award ceremony also included honoring the homeschoolers in our church with a promotional certification. Lighthouse Christian Academy supports our church members decisions to keep their children separate from the public schools not only by providing a low cost private school option but also by encouraging and supporting the families in our church who feel the Lord directing them to educate their children at home.
